Naughty Dog recently stated in an interview and on their twitter that they are a "One Franchise Per Console" type of development team, and what that means is that They will not be returning to the loved Jak and Daxter series. They also said that they won't sell the rights thus no chance of another dev team creating the next installment of the series.
Naughty Dog claims they just aren't big enough of a studio to work on two games at once. But we all know that is a load of crap. They had half the team working on the first Jak and their last installment of Crash so why can't it be done again? If It really can't be done then why not alternate between Uncharted and Jak? Don't remove one in favor of the other.
I was on Facebook recently and I came across Diamond Select Toys' page where someone asked when the figures would release. In response, Diamond Select answered that the Jak and Daxter line of action figures had been cancelled due to 'lack of interest'. The link below will take you to Diamond Select's Facebook page where you can scroll down and view the discussion: https://www.facebook.com/diamondselecttoys
Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta, is as follows: "The story sees ‘fortune hunter’ Faris Jawad receive a call to visit Morocco, where he trails the footsteps of famous Muslim explorer Ibn Battuta across the Middle East.”
Semaphore, the publisher of the clone, mentions that players will have to "overcome an unholy alliance of a militia army leader, a weapons dealer and a wealthy antiquities smuggler who are after the same goal”.
Evan Wells of Naughty Dog said in a recent interview that the franchise wasn't "concieved as a trilogy". Since "Every single episode is a standalone adventure", the developer stated that they could continue to franchise in after Drake's Deception. "We feel like we can keep putting him in these scenarios that are self-contained that anyone can pick up and play, but if you have played and know the characters and storylines it can be an even more rewarding experience."
" I don't see why we wouldn't keep going and making more of those adventures as long as we've got the ideas." said Wells in a recent interview. And ideas aren't a commodity that Naughty Dog seems to be coming up short on. Both Uncharted games have had exceptional plotlines, with an incredible balance of storytelling, spetacular gameplay, and jaw dropping graphics. Everything we've seen thus far from Uncharted 3 looks like the developers have their sights set on topping what is widely regarded as the best action adventure game of the generation in Uncharted 2.
"We’re not dogmatic about anything,” Naughty Dog’s Co-President Evan Wells told cvg.com. "If that is what it takes [to advance the storyline] then that’s what it takes. And not just for dramatic shock value – it would definitely have to tie into the narrative that [we're] trying to tell and expose an aspect of Drake’s character that we would want to delve into.”
