Naughty Dog Says They Stick To 1 Game A Console. No New Jak Title.
Naughty Dog recently stated in an interview and on their twitter that they are a "One Franchise Per Console" type of development team, and what that means is that They will not be returning to the loved Jak and Daxter series. They also said that they won't sell the rights thus no chance of another dev team creating the next installment of the series.
Naughty Dog claims they just aren't big enough of a studio to work on two games at once. But we all know that is a load of crap. They had half the team working on the first Jak and their last installment of Crash so why can't it be done again? If It really can't be done then why not alternate between Uncharted and Jak? Don't remove one in favor of the other.
In the end Naughty Dog has pissed off a lot of fans, and lied to us all for 6 years straight by constantly saying they'd love to return to the sereis. It's like getting played and led on by the cure girl you like only to be screwed over in the end.
Jak and Daxter still has so many adventures left in it. So many questions that were left unanswered. Jak 3 ended in a cliff hanger for crying out loud. I don't want a racing title and I don't want another **bleep** spin-off made by some medicore game developer. I want a full Jak and Daxter titled developed by Naughty Dog.
I agree Dax, I was honestly gonna shut this place down cause I was getting sick of Uncharted this and Uncharted that. Sure it's a great series but Jak is what I fell in love with. This recent Jak news has made me change my mind.
You and I are one and the same in this. 6 years is a long time to be lied to. It would've been better to say that they were a "One Franchise Per Console" company the very year the first "Uncharted" came out and I would've been fine with that. But like you said, it was like being flirted with and then dumped for the hotter guy in school. All we can do at this point is make our voices heard to Naughty Dog that they played with us and we don't like it the slightest bit. However, it is good news to hear that they won't sell the franchise to an unqualified company--sounds like they learned their lesson with Crash.
Though since my fanfic is gearing to propose answers and draw the series to a conclusion, I suppose there will still be "an" ending, though obviously not Naughty Dog's intended ending. Hopefully I'll be able to launch my progress into overdrive so that I can hopefully get it the rest of the story out faster.
There is already a rave of fans flaming Naughty Dog's Facebook wall. Let's be sure to join in and make our voices heard. There is also a Facebook page that is looking for 1 million likes so that Naughty Dog may work on a "Jak and Daxter" game (though I don't see how a petition could change their minds unless they themselves said they would if the page gets a million likes).
